Visiting My Parents in Toronto

I didn’t grow up in Canada. In fact, I grew up in Texas, which is about as far as you can get away from Canada without leaving the United States. However, after my little sister and I grew up and moved out on our own, my parents decided that they didn’t want to live in Texas any longer. At first, they weren’t sure where they wanted to move, so I naturally assumed that it was to another location in the United States (my personal guesses for where they were going to move were Colorado or Florida, depending on the type of climate they wanted).

So, as you can imagine, when they visited me and said they had decided to move to Toronto, I was quite surprised. However, they were very excited, and I have always thought that Toronto was a nice place, so I was supportive of their decision. I actually live in the Northern part of the United States, so even though we are in different countries, we’re not that far apart. My parents visit me 2-3 times a year, and I go to Toronto and visit them just as often.
