I think the hardest thing about graduating from college two years ago was saying goodbye to so many of my close friends. I had made a lot of really great friendships during my years in college, and although I still stay in touch with all of my friends, just about all of us went our separate ways after we graduated (since we landed jobs with different companies in various cities and states). Although just about all of my friends got a job somewhere in the United States, one of my closest friends ended up working for a company in Canada.
Even though we talk quite regularly, I hadn’t seen this friend since graduation. So, when I found out that I had a three day weekend at my disposal, I tracked down a cheap flight to Toronto and decided to go hang out with my buddy. He knew I was coming, but when we saw each other at the airport, we literally just stopped and looked for a minute (since we hadn’t seen each other in so long).
I think the best part of our trip is that it took less than five minutes for us to fall back into our old ways, and the entire trip it honestly seemed like it had been a couple of weeks since I had last seen my old friend.

Because my wife and I got a divorce three years ago, I don’t get to see my kids as often as I like. Fortunately, I do get to see them more than some of my other divorced friends get to see their kids. The reason for this is that although we couldn’t make things work as a married couple, my ex-wife and I did not end on a bad note. There were no affairs or anything like that; we simply couldn’t make things work. Because we ended as well as possible, my ex-wife hasn’t tried to keep my kids from me; there are simply just a lot of times when I can’t be around to see them.
Luckily, I asked my ex-wife if I could take my kids on a trip in a couple of months, and she said that as long as it was during Spring Break (so they wouldn’t have to miss any school), she would be fine with it. Once I talked with her, I surprised my kids with the good news, and after discussing a lot of different options, we decided that it would be fun to go to Toronto together!

If you are looking for a place that is going to provide you with a great vacation experience, I highly recommend taking a trip to Toronto. I have been to Toronto on several different occasions, and I have never been disappointed by the experiences that I have had there. The great thing about Toronto is that you can have a lot of fun there, regardless of the time of year when you visit. While some vacation destinations are only enjoyable if you go during a specific season of the year, this is definitely not true in Toronto. Whether it’s hot outside or cold outside, I can guarantee that you won’t have trouble finding fun activities to do while you are in Toronto.
If you take my advice and do decide to take a trip to Toronto, one of the nicest things about taking a trip to this destination is that you will be able to make all of your travel arrangements on the Internet. Instead of dealing with the phone or waiting to make any of your arrangements in person, you can get your flight, rental car and hotel room with nothing more than an Internet connection and a credit card.

Just about everyone I know (and I am including myself in this statement) spends the holidays with their family. Some people complain about having to spend time with their family, but because it is something that I don’t get to do very often, I am happy that I get to spend this time with them. I have a lot of great people in my family, and it’s nice getting to spend some time with them in person.
However, although I do enjoy spending Christmas with the family, once that event is over, it’s time to get ready to party on New Year’s Eve and Day. If I had to pick my favorite time of the year, I think I would have to say that it is the very beginning. It just feels so great to not only start off with a clean slate, but to spend the first day of the New Year having a blast with your closest friends.
Although we have celebrated New Year’s in a variety of different locations, we are planning to go to Toronto to ring in 2009. I have never been to Toronto before, but several of my friends have told me a lot of good things about it, so I’m looking forward to checking it out for myself.
