Car Rental – Toronto Airport

[Facebook] [Twitter]

The Toronto airport is an amazing place to see. Either people are headed out from the airport to return home or others are just getting to Toronto to start their adventure. The biggest problem that most people run into is the fact that there are so many different travel options once they arrive. Some will opt to get a car rental, but lines may be excruciatingly long and unbearable for some travelers. Fortunately, this is no longer the case for those who are travel smart enough to make their car rental reservations online. There are many advantages to making reservations online.

One of the major advantages to making your Toronto car rental reservations online is that you are able to have your vehicle ready and waiting for you when you arrive. There is no longer a need to wait at the car rental desk to receive your vehicle. Some car rental services provide a useful kiosk that allows you to get a key voucher which allows you to go up to the desk and request your car rental keys. This is a major improvement and allows you to get out of the airport in record time when choosing a rental option.

The other big advantage is the price range and selection of vehicles available. Several of the vehicles that you have access to are only available on a first come and first serve basis. Of course, when you are looking at the broad selection of options across several vendors, you get to see the entire stock of vehicles available to the public. When you plan on booking in advance, you also get the largest available vehicle selection possible with an added advantage of having the lowest prices possible with these options.

Hotwire reservations are some of the best available online. They have great pricing on vehicles that will be reserved last minute as well as great deals on hotels and even airfare. Make sure to look online through their services to find a better deal through their services. Most people will only use services like these when they have a coupon for an even better deal. Hotwire is one of the better companies to make your reservation through because they do accept rental car coupons for their services. This can take an additional amount off of your car rental or give a free day of usage.

Those who would like coupons to use with this service are in luck as there are several ways to get a hold of the coupons online. Simply signing up and opting in to the email newsletters for the rental companies that you are interested in receiving coupons from will usually give you online coupon codes to use which would work on Hotwire reservation services. These options are also available from many travel magazines as well as some of the materials which may be available on flights.

How Much Is a Rental Car?

Filed under: Car Rental Toronto - 09 Mar 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

The Internet makes it easy to search for the best rental car deal in Canada. While researching, you’ll realize there are plenty of rental car companies to choose from, including some you’ve never heard of before.

For example, I needed to pick up a rental car from the Toronto Pearson International Airport, so I searched the Internet and found Economy Rent A Car, which will rent a compact, two/four door, automatic Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris or similar car for $45.59 (Canadian) per day. They also rent an intermediate-size, two/four door, automatic Toyota Corolla for $50.66 (Canadian) per day. Both include unlimited mileage.

I also found out about Trans Canada Car Rental, which rents cars from their downtown Toronto office on Queen Street and Ace Discount Rent A Car, which rents cars from Toronto’s Centre Airport.

All these rental car companies are independent car rental agencies that provide a real choice to renting from the big multinational car rental agencies.

They claim to offer daily car rental rates that are 25 to 30% less than the multinational’s daily rates and weekly rates that are 15% less.

These seem to be valid claims. Hertz offers a two/four door Ford Focus compact for $68.49 (Canadian) per pay and the intermediate-size, two/four door Nissan Senta for $73.49 (Canadian) per day.

In the compact category, Avis offers the two/four door, automatic Chevrolet Cobalt or similar model for $70.99 (Canadian). In the intermediate category, there’s the two/four door Pontiac G6 or similar car for $72.99 (Canadian) per day.

These rates don’t include discounts, so if you’ve rented from Hertz or Avis before, you’re probably entitled to a discount rate. Or, if you have Delta SkyMiles, you may want to use them to pay for an Avis or Hertz rental car.

Some Things to Keep in Mind With Car Rentals in Toronto

Filed under: Car Rental Toronto - 26 Feb 2010  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Toronto is not only the biggest city in Canada, it’s also the city that’s the most populated by visitors and tourists in the country every year. If you’re planning on becoming one of those tourists sometime soon, the first thing you should think about doing is renting a car. Car rentals in Toronto are plentiful, but there are a few special features that you should think about getting that will make your trip to Toronto much more pleasurable.

The first thing you’ll want to make sure your rental car has is GPS. Toronto is not only a big city, it’s also one that’s very complex and difficult to drive around. And if you’re planning on venturing into downtown, where many of Toronto’s biggest sights are, you’ll definitely need an automated voice telling you which turns to take!

Many people also decide to take their children on vacation with them in Toronto. If you’re deciding to do this as well, make sure that you find a car rental in Toronto that comes with booster and child seats. Every child under the weight of 80 pounds in Toronto needs to be safely seated in one of these every time they get in the car. If the area you live in doesn’t have this law and you need a car seat just for your trip, finding a car rental that includes this in the price is much cheaper than buying a car seat!

Also, make sure that you book your Toronto car rental online. Most major companies have discounts and coupon codes that can be entered online, giving you an even cheaper deal on your car rental. Toronto is a great place to visit! But make sure you’re getting everything you can with your car rental so you can fully enjoy your stay!

There are several reasons why you would want to name your own price on airline ticket fare and car rental options. This can be used to your advantage with several great services that are available online. These services will often ask you to set the price that you wish to pay for rental service or flight fare and they will show you a list of compatible pricing that closely match your request. If no matches are found, then you may be able to request a lower price on perishable products such as rentals and flight fare.

It is not guaranteed that you will get the price you want for these services, but last minute sales can be offered to customers when they look for their services at name your own price websites. These sites are extremely useful for those who travel a lot or require immediate travel accommodations. One of the best ways to save is also to book as far in advance as possible to ensure you get a greater deal on the services you require. It is sometimes best to reserve in advance than to reserve at the last minute because you can choose better options for yourself.

This is not to convince you that name your own price rental and airline fare options are bad, but that they are less reliable than planning your travel in advance. Looking for the best deals can be easily supplemented via coupon codes that offer discounts on your rental car needs. These are usually available from the rental companies when you sign up for email offers and newsletters but they can also be used on many of the name your own price rental websites. These services are superb when planned with optimum savings!

The Greater Toronto Area has a reputation of being a difficult drive. The fact of the matter is that becoming familiar with your navigations options makes commuting to and from your desired destinations simple and easy. If you are visiting Toronto on business or pleasure, you will find that renting a car is crucial in order to maneuver around this great city. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the major highways, expressways, and Toll Roads to make this endeavor easier to accomplish.

Major Highways: The highways in the Toronto area are identified by number. The 400-highways are called freeways and are the equivalent to the U.S. interstate. The main freeway of Toronto is Highway 401 which carries the most traffic in the world. This contains quadruple lanes that often become quite congested. It is recommended to drive on this highway during non-peak hours.

Expressways: Aside from the highways, there are a serious of municipal expressways that are easily accessible and great in helping you navigate to your destinations. These are a great alternative to Highway 401 during the rush hour. These expressways include F.G. Gardiner that takes you downtown, Don Valley Parkway taking you north, and Lakeshore Boulevard that runs along Lake Ontario. In addition, there are suburban expressways that extend further out in the city and takes you toward the outskirts. These expressways include Queen Elizabeth Way and Don Valley Parkway.

Toll Road: There is only one toll road in Ontario and that is The 407 Express Toll Route. For a small fee, this road will get you to where you are going fast, without congestion. There are no toll booths on this road. Instead, the road uses the technology of cameras to record your license plate number and send the fees directly to you. When driving a rental car, your bill will be sent to the rental company who will forward it on to you.
